FEGA Portugal is an archive for storing and sharing all kinds of data resulting from biomedical research projects. As a national node of the Federated European Genome-phenome Archive (FEGA), we enable researchers to store their data in Portugal in a way that meets the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Any data submitted to the archive is subject to controlled access, which means that access to the data only will be granted after a formal application procedure.
Our Mission
We enable sharing of personally identifiable data resulting from Portuguese biomedical research projects.
An increasing amount of human related data is generated in Portuguese biomedical research projects. FEGA Portugal is a national resource for archiving, accessing and sharing these data, which previously has been missing in Portugal. FEGA Portugal employs the FAIR data principles, thereby making the data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable.
The organisations behind FEGA Portugal
FEGA Portugal is hosted in Técnico Lisboa (IST), which legally is part of Lisbon University. IST is an associate BioData.pt – the Portuguese distributed infrastructure for biological data and the Portuguese node of ELIXIR. BioData.pt is the legal representative of FEGA Portugal.
